Description

Coiled glass, kiln-formed, and acid-etched on both sides. Oval with deep corrugated sides rising from a narrow oval base. The mouth curves downwards slightly on the long sides. Here and there on the sides there are small holes between the coils.

Text from object entry in A. Game (2016) ‘Contemporary British Crafts: The Goodison Gift to the Fitzwilliam Museum’. London: Philip Wilson Publishers: Marianne Buus’ stated interest in the fluid processes of glass found new form in this monochrome vessel in which the heated rods of glass are laid in a mould and fused in the kiln.
