Description

Soft-paste porcelain sugar bowl and cover, transfer-printed onglaze in purple, painted in polychrome enamels with two scenes amid classical ruins and gilt.

Soft-paste porcelain sugar bowl and cover, transfer-printed onglaze in purple, painted in blue, green, yellow, pink, red and brown enamel colours and gilt. Circular with deep sides, standing on a footring; circular lid with domed centre and flower knob. On the bowl, a woman is shown drawing water from a well; a man crosses a bridge behind a temple; a man walks amongst ruins. On the lid, a ruined castle and two ruins are shown among trees.
