Description

Soft-paste porcelain tea bowl and saucer, painted with Japan pattern of flowers in red, orange, blue, turquoise and green enamels and gilt.

Soft-paste porcelain tea bowl and saucer, painted in red, orange, blue, turquoise and green enamels and gilt. The circular tea bowl and saucer have rounded sides, on low footrings. The tea bowl is painted with Japan pattern of alternate sprays of chrysanthemum and flowering prunus, separated by four vertical orange panels, gilt with trelliswork. The interior has a central chrysanthemum head mons; the saucer is painted en suite, with two insects concealing contemporary flaws.
