Description

Buff earthenware, moulded, tin-glazed and painted in blue, green, yellow and red. In the form of a dog with a slot for the money pierced through its shoulder, seated on a low mound base. The base is green. The dog's features are painted in blue, and its body and head are spotted in blue and yellow with red markings. It wears a yellow collar inscribed 'ANN WITTIN 1717' in blue. The unglazed base is inscribed in blue, 'Ann Wittin/was born ye 14 of/November 1717 J (?) W'
