Description

Fritware painted in black under a turquoise glaze

Fritware, probably wheel thrown, painted in black under a turquoise glaze
Shape: irregular fragment on a foot ring
Interior: on the base, enclosed within black concentric lines, an arabesque incorporating whole and split palmette leaves is painted in reserve against a black background
Exterior: undecorated except for the glaze with covers the surface unevenly particularly on the foot ring. The underside of the base has a spot of turquoise glaze.
