Factory: Unidentified Staffordshire factory
Salt-glazed dark brown and off-white agateware. Circular in the shape of a snail's shell, with on one side a small screw stopper, and on the other, a projection scored with a cross which enables the bottle to be stood up with the diameter vertical.
History note: Unidentified owner in Brighton; Mr George Stoner from whom purchased on 19 November 1917 for £4 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
