White salt-glazed-stoneware teapot in the shape of a house
White stoneware slipcast with integral decoration in relief, and having an applied moulded spout and handle, and saltglaze. The body of the pot is in the form of a rectangular three-storied house with canted corners, and a sloping roof, with a rectangular opening at the top (the cover is missing). On one side there is a front door sheltering a man and woman, with a rampant lion and a fleur-de-lys in an archway above it, and a winged cherub's head above that. On either side of it there are three storeys of windows between columns. On the roof above is the Royal Arms. On the other side there is a standing man and a cartouche above the doorway, and a different Dutch coat-of-arms on the roof. The spout is in the form of an animal's neck and head with open mouth. The loop handle is in the form of a knobbly serpent with upturned tail at the bottom.
