Description

Earthenware, press-moulded, decorated with slip and lead-glazed. Two men seated on either side of a table, with inscription 'Wee three Logerheads' and initials 'S' and 'M'

Earthenware press-moulded over a hump mould with decoration outlined in relief and applied in dark brown and pale brown slips under yellowish ead-glaze; reverse unglazed. Circular with curved sides and pie-crust border. Two men seated in high backed chairs face each other across a small round table on which stands a jug, bulbous bottle and candlestick with lighted candle. The man on the left is smoking is a pipe, the other is about to drink from a goblet which he holds in his right hand. Above are the words 'Wee three Logerheads' and on the extreme right and left of the dish, the initials .S' and 'M'.
