Pendant in the shape of a Gothic Reliquary Shrine. Gold, set with coloured gemstones cut en cabochon, including opals, sapphires, chrysoprasesand emeralds, the 'buttresses' with pearl finials. The front opens to reveal an enamelled figure of the Virgin and Child, modelled in the round against a silver leafy tree. The base is set with an oval cabochon fire opal.

Relative size of this object is displayed using code inspired by Good Form and Spectacle's work on the British Museum's Waddeson Bequest website and their dimension drawer. They chose a tennis ball to represent a universally sized object, from which you could envisage the size of an object.
